It has been many years since I last got on a bicycle. I bought an Element for commuting. It is FANTASTIC. I have found it so easy to ride, I can't fault any aspect of it. Rgds Cliff

My wife and I haven't ridden for years but riding these bikes for 12 miles back from the dealer through very hilly Cornish countryside was a breeze, a great pleasure. Very light, quick and quiet. We look forward to many more fun miles.

The Element is a well designed tour bike-beats others twice the price. Fast gear changing, light and comfortable. Tough enough to go the distance!

After a steel frame "sit up & beg" m/c the Velocity is a revelation. My objective is personal fitness in retirement. 15-20 miles per day. For this the Velocity is perfect. Have fitted bar ends which provide major improvement. I'm just enjoying this SO much more than going to the gym, as a form of exercise!

Just bought a velocity from very helpful Apex bikes in Clapham. Really quick and really comfortable ride. Well done Ridgeback.

I've a Motion now for over a year and its spectacular. Everything I want it to do it does with aplomb, whether its the daily commute, weekend paths and canal sides, or the C2C it never disappoints.

I love my Velocity, it is without a doubt the most responsive bike that I have ever owned! Thank you Ridgeback, keep up the good work!

Wow, What a bike amazing brakes and wicked suspension tires ultra wow thank you Ridgeback

I thought the bike I had been riding for years was ok - then yesterday I bought a Velocity - My advice to you is just try one its amazing! Now I am off to buy my wife one too.

I can recommend the Velocity to anyone. Cambridge seems to have high demands of a bike, cobbled streets, bus dodging, tourist dodging, emergency stops, and a general daily hammering, but the Velocity takes it all in its stride. 10/10 Phil, Cambridge

This bicycle is surely the best buy I have ever made. It is reliable, comfortable, fast, sweet; the gears bring a touch of silk. Yesterday I cycled for 2 hours around Edinburgh as I could not get off it. There is only one problem: my girlfriend is becoming jealous ...

Just bought a Ridgeback SuperNova, after having my Velocity stolen and wanting a step up in components - What a fast attractive bike, over the moon with it. I was very happy with the Velocity, but this is something else! Commuting has become such a joy, and I never thought I'd say that.

My Impulse serves as my Office Bike. I just unfold and go. I can shoot across London, in my business suit and still arrive cool calm and collected. I can even travel on the Docklands Light Railway (DLR) with it too, when folded; as the DLR have a strict rule no bike rule on all their services. I love my Impulse, as much as my 15 year old Ridgeback Mountain Bike. This is my weapon against London’s pothole hell.

I've been riding the Velocity for about 18 months and it is a very comfortable, reliable ride, especially at my age (52).

Just bought a Ridgeback Velocity 2004 and it's a superb bike for under £300 – after weeks of hunting I couldn’t find better for quality and performance at this price for a commuter. Ideal for touring and light off road use too. Just one niggle, I do find the seat uncomfortable. Maybe it just needs wearing in or I have an unusual shaped bottom! Overall highly recommended as this is an excellent all-round bike. Proud to buy British again.

I have had my Velocity for almost a year now and it's been superb. I cycle to the train and then at the other end and it deals with commuting with ease. Without reservation would recommmend this bike to any adult commuter.

I use this bike for commuting and its a dream to ride. The seating position is absolutely perfect. The best bike I have owned.

Bought a Bullit two months ago to ride to work on: do about 70 miles a week on it. The highbrid frame gives very good handling when seated and the slim tyres, stiff frame, rigid forks allow for a fast ride. The brakes and gears work very well and the wheels seem up to a daily bashing. I've added mudguards which are a must on a commuter bike and bar ends for better climbing and fast work. Only real criticisms are: the saddle is very uncomfortable - I replaced mine; and the highest gears are way too high. Overall - a very good bike, well designed and suited to its purpose. I bought my velocity+ 2years ago. Commuting to work and weekeng rides became so much more enjoyable my mileage increased to 1500 miles a year. all this and total reliability! remarkable. saving hard now for a day 1 or 2.

I went from a £100 'Halfords special' to a Comet and couldn't believe what I'd been missing. The over sized, slender tyres make commuting to work so much easier. It's an absolute joy to ride. Comfy, fast and minimal effort. Don't waste your time on any other manufactures, these are the bikes if you want quality and speed 'hand-in-hand'.

I bought a Velocity for a 22 mile daily commute & it hasn't let me down yet(excepting the usual puctures!). It survived a crash pretty well unscathed a few weeks ago so it must be quite sturdy. Full marks to Richardson's of Leigh-on-Sea for their support & servicing.

Francis Devonshire
Nice bike! Did my first Audax on mine a couple of weeks ago. The addition of bar-ends is pretty essential for long distance stuff.

Charles Quinn
I've been riding a slightly older Bullit (with shocks) for a while now, and I really love it; but the suspension seat is so comfy I don't think I actually need the shocks. The decision to lose them and bump up the overall spec is a very good one, and with this component set the new Bullit looks like even better value. My girlfriend has a Comet and she loves that too!

I bought my 01 about a year ago and use it as a fast trainer regularly clocking 30-40 miles in the evening. It's a superb piece of kit. Did a 50 mile sponsored ride on it in under 3 hours!! A few years ago I had lower back surgery so the more relaxed sitting position suits me fine. I changed the wheels to slightly heavier- duty Mavic Pro's, but apart from that - and one new inner tube- the rest is all original. So now I'm saving for the 03 which I hope to get later this summer.

Andy Hague
Very impressed with the standard of components fitted to Day 03 (02). Fitted Ultegra SPD-R pedals as only upgrade. Only gripe is that bike screams "steal me" when parked up!

Rich Gillibrand
Just got this bike a couple of days ago as a replacement for a four month old RB Velocity which was stolen in Jan. After two days of riding I am very impressed with the quality and speed of the ride (commuting 4+ miles and 2 hour training sessions including several long steep Bristol hills!) I am very pleased with the bike and would have to say that the thieves may actually have done me a favour! (although the Velocity was also excellent) Rich

Steve Barnes
Very impressed with comfort and ease of riding.

I bought a Velocity three weeks ago and doesn't it just live up to its name!! It's fantastic - well designed, speedy, easy to ride in every sense and oh so comfortable. What a seat and what suspension ! I've covered about 200 miles on it and am thinking of entering a 100 mile charity ridein July. I'll let you know if I make it. My only regret is that I didnt buy a ridgeback before. Thanks for a great piece of equipment.

Tim Isaac
Have been riding a Velocity to work for over a year - overall fast and comfortable. I upgraded to slicker, racier tyres which I have found make a real difference - bike feels smoother, faster and grippier. Definately would recommend for the price but personally am ready to upgrade now for something a bit faster

colleen dorricott
Just bought one. Its comfy easy to ride, fast. Just got to get used to the brakes they are veeerrrryyyy quick!!

Simon Edwards
I use this bike for a daily trip to work. I purchased the bike around 1 year ago and have just clocked up my 4000th mile on it. I have found the bike to be ideal and a pleasure to ride in all weather. I have fitted mudguards halogen lights for the winter months.

sarah mawhinney
I have owned my 'Velocity' since March and am really impressed with it's performance and comfort! The suspension seat post means no saddle-soreness at all even on longer rides. This bike is ideal for my purposes, commuting to work on road/country lanes and also for longer 'family' bike rides.I am also very pleased with the overall 'look' of the bike, all in all a great value for money, quality bike!

Mark Bender
I just bought number 46 and have only rdden it for about 15 minutes while I was deciding whether or not to buy it. I was sold almost instantly. It just felt right. A lovely lean machine made to make me personally happy. Thanks RB for building my dream bike.

Graham Mills
I purchased a ridgeback Velocity in June and have completed over 900 miles of trouble free riding. I found the bike to be excellent, with well chosen gears and lightweight ease of riding, and have no hestitation in recommending it. Well done.

Richard B
An excellent cycle, lightweight, stylish and sleek. You cannot get better for your money.

Lee Bushen
I've only cycled about 40 miles on mine so far, but I find it light, and easy to ride. The front shocks provide some extra comfort on bumpy roads, but the seat shock's effect on comfort isn't so evident. The smoother tyres are very good on the road, while still giving me the confidence to go off on a canal tow-path if I should feel the need. I also approve of the more subdued frame colours. Other manufacturers produce such garish colours in their Hybrid ranges.

Teresa Hastings
I have just bought my first bike for a while, a Ridgeback Bullit. I could not feel happier with it, a perfect way to start riding around the city again

peter lee
Purchased for four months touring around Europe. So far found the combined fork and seat post suspension very comfortable on cobblestone areas. Getting used to the flexibility of a hybrid after years on a mountain bike. Gear selection seems good.

Seamus Murphy
excellent handling characteristics, I have used the bike for 9 months-1500 miles worth of communting and it has really done the business. No problems so far. excellent commuting bike.

David Pipes
Haven't ridden a bike for over 25 years but need to shed some middle-age spread and bought a Velocity three months ago. It's almost spot on - comfortable, good range of gears, excellent brakes and fitted out with mudguards, lights and panniers it means I can leave the car at home for local errands. My only adverse comment would be about the tyres fitted, I'd prefer some less knobbly as 90% of my riding is on roads or cycle paths. Otherwise it's a great bike and I can highly recommend it.

benjamin bloquet
The Comet suits all my needs, fast, stylish, easy gear change, impressive brake power...in city conditions that is. But i hope it will give me as much satisfaction when trying it off-road.

Jennifer Lea
I got my Comet on Saturday, and its fab - every time I get off it I want to get back on. Going up hills is excellent, although I still need to get used to the 21 gears, and how best to use them. I'm very impressed with the lightness of the frame - definitely worth the extra £50.

Nicolas Pike
This bike is a revolution. Great bike which I really enjoy and is perfectly suited to my riding. I don't kid myself that I am an off roader, mountain biker or that I can stand the racer riding position etc. So for Real usable performance I doubt there is much to match this.

Phil Buckley
Fantastic - has saved me up to 10 minutes on my (previously 50 mins) trip to work. Comfortable, fast, and great looking - thanks!

Stephen Harding
A brilliant bike with lots of "fun" feeling. Brings a smile to your face. Good value for money.

John Baxter
Seriously good looking, responsive and sexy street-weaver! Excellent for cheesing off city drivers as you zip by on narrow handlebars through the teeniest of gaps. Enough gears to raz down the straights in top leaving the scooters trailing behind at 30mph.

Phil Whyatt
A joy to ride! It reduced my 45min commute by 5/6 mins without any extra effort. Flat out its 10 mins quicker! The more upright riding position gives you confidence in traffic to see everything. The frame responds well and the gears operate perfectly. The best bike I could buy! The only thing I've done is fitted bar ends to give my hands a change of position over long rides.
